Patrick Chamoiseau in the New World Order

In his latest book, "Que peut Littérature quand elle ne peut" (2025), Patrick Chamoiseau reaffirms his work and theses while simultaneously re-examining them in light of the changing political, social, and cultural developments of the present day. Chamoiseau remains true to many of his fundamental convictions, but the way he views and interprets the world has significantly shifted. Whereas he previously focused primarily on postcolonial questions of identity, creolization, and cultural hybridity, he now broadens his perspective to include global challenges such as digitalization, the algorithmic control of knowledge, ecological crises, and the threat of totalizing political narratives.
